The Al Tarfa Desert Sanctuary Lodge & Spa has been awarded the ‘Golden Tent' certificate to become Egypt’s first and  only Eco Luxury member. The lodge was chosen for its uniqueness, quality and commitment to eco projects.

Designed with the all the comfort of a luxury hotel, the eco-friendly Al Tarfa nestles in the Dakhla Oasis of Egypt’s western desert. The hotel has been purposely built to blend into its surroundings of desert, verdant oasis and mountains backdrop using local, natural building materials and techniques to build the 20 rooms. Each is decorated and furnished, in a modern, yet classical style.

Dine in the lovely restaurant or one of the many delightful areas sprinkled throughout the hotel grounds, relax in the bar or library.

The outdoor pool is superbly set atop a sand dune with glorious views of the palm tress and endless desert. There is also a spa with a sauna, steam room and indoor heated pool - plus a small gymnasium.

For the energetic guided walks into the surrounding oasis and deserts and horseback riding are available.
